About the new xbox 360 fall update?

Well the xbox 360 update im talking about is the one with the avatars and such, the new dashboard the whole shabang. But i wanted to know that since your able to install the game on your harddrive and people are saying that it doesnt make the disk run and makes it alot easier on the laser. If i was to move my xbox while it was reading the disk will it make that terrible noise, that like destroys the disk inside leaving that deep white circle in the inner part of the disk, making the game unreadable, after i install the disk on my Hardrive?
