Does serving the army or police in the UK help with your ROA (Right of Abode) or Naturalisation application?

I am member of a Commonwealth country (Canada) and therefore am allowed to serve the UK Army or UK Police Force. Will doing this help my application to naturalise as a citizen in the UK?
