Could this be related or just a coincidence?

Okay, so recently, my interest in ghosts and hauntings has grown again. And last night, I was reading up on the Borley Rectory, which was a haunted house/rectory in England in the 19th and early 20th century. I had read that people who lived there claimed many things to happen to them, and one of those was that they would be mysteriously locked out of their rooms. Like something locked them out from the inside. Well the next day (which is today), my brother came home and went to his room to find someone had locked it from the inside with no one actually in there. And this has never happened. Not once in the 6-7 years we've lived here. Might I also add I've been hearing a few strange bumping noises in the walls. Could this somehow be related or just coincidence?
