How to stop roots from turning orange-ish?

my natural hair is brown. more dark than light. i have kinda a lot of gray roots and every time i color it my roots turn orangey! i just do the touch up version because no matter what color i do, my ends jus end up black. so my hair is kinda 3 colors. blk, bro, orange-ish. i do hav a lil natural redish tone to my hair in the sun mostly. the color i use is truffle #50, by garnier nutrisse
